My grandmother used to make these for me. We also figured out that if you put the apples in a pyrex dish with some water, cover it in saran wrap, and microwave it, you end up with something almost as good. This is handy when one is already using oven to broil pork, which the apples go great with.
Cinnamon from a stick takes so much better, but I prefer using a blender to grind it.
Thank you for these videos. They help me remember growing up with my grandparents, who passed on in 2002 and 2005
I love you!!!! Hugs!!! I was making stuffed green peppers and thought of apples. Low and behold you have the recipe! My husband will be so happy for the baked apples. Can you be my grandma!?
Then you did something wrong! My own grandmother has been making hers almost the same way all my life and they are wonderful! My grandma just uses a bit of nutmeg, too!
Clara, do you have any gardening tips you can give us on how to grow our own vegetables? What were some of the things you did to make sure you had veggies to put up for the winter time? Did you have a large garden?
no way celticlady. i watched this video about 4 times before i did made the apples, i went out and bought all needed ingredients, i followed it step by step
and they did not taste like anything. even the apple parts that were pretty covered in sugar and cinnamon didn’t taste like much at all
but i cannot wait to try your other recepies clara i have tried others and they’re pretty yummy

I noticed you used two different types of apples. Which variety remained standing at the end?

If you mix some allspice with your cinnamon and sugar, they can’t help but taste good!
